We’re always on the lookout for training opportunities for members, and this free Google for Media Summit in New York City on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29 is definitely worth passing along. If you can’t make it, don’t despair — another one is scheduled for Oct. 24 at the Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State. In the meantime, here’s the low-down about the NYC Summit, courtesy of Scott Leadingham, SPJ’s director of education.
Hello, SPJ members,
Attached in PDF and HTML form is an invitation for a free training day on digital media tools in New York City. It will take place Monday, July 28 with an additional half day on Tuesday, July 29. You can attend one or both days. See more info and RSVP here.
This is part of Google’s series of training days called Google for Media Summits taking place in various cities. They have asked SPJ and other journalism groups to help get out the word to our members. We’re also helping with programming feedback. However, it is primarily a Google program — we’re just helping with some marketing and promotion. If you can attend all or part of the training, please RSVP here or use the invitation link in the attached files. Since there is limited space, they would like a headcount ahead of time, so please do RSVP if you can attend.
Thanks,
Scott A. Leadingham Director of Education Editor, Quill magazine
